Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) Solution 1mg/1ml
Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) Solution 1mg/1ml
IAA is a naturally occurring plant growth regulator of the auxin family. It’s involved in cell division and elongation aspects of plant growth and development.
The Benefits of Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) Solution
- Easy to use
- Used as a supplement in growth media like MS media or Gamborg’s media for callus initiation.
- Involved in both primary and lateral root initiation.
- Regulate growth and developmental processes such as cell division, elongation, and tissue differentiation.
How To Use Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) Solution
Follow the given steps to prepare the tissue culture media using PCT’s IAA solution:
- Prepare liquid tissue culture media using PCT’s MS, DKW, or any other alternative media.
- Add sugar based on the quantity of media you’re making (generally for 1-liter media 30 grams of sugar is added), 1 ml/L PPM, and 3-4 grams per liter of gellan gum or 6-8 grams per liter of agar.
- Then, add the desired quantity of the plant hormone.
- Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121℃.
Your media is ready!

Applications
Applications
- This substance plays crucial roles in various aspects of plant physiology, including cell enlargement, division, tissue differentiation, and responses to environmental stimuli such as light and gravity.
- In plant tissue culture, it fosters the development of organs such as shoots and roots.
- In horticulture, it is used to promote adventitious root growth.
- It functions as a vital supplement in growth media formulations like MS media or Gamborg’s media, facilitating callus initiation.
- Auxin sprays containing IAA can be used in some crops to improve fruit sets and prevent premature fruit drop.
