Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) is a natural auxin, a plant growth regulator or plant hormone that is required for the proper growth and development of plants.

The Benefits of Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA)

  • Promote cell enlargement and division, tissue differentiation, and response to light and gravity.
  • Stimulate root initiation and development
  • Helps establish apical dominance
  • Plays a role in the differentiation of vascular tissues (xylem and phloem)

How To Use Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) Powder

Follow the given steps to prepare 1L tissue culture media using PCT’s IAA Powder:

  1. Prepare liquid tissue culture media using PCT’s MS, DKW, or any other alternative media.
  2. Add sugar based on the quantity of media you’re making (generally, 30 grams of sugar is added for 1-liter media), 1 ml/L PPM, and 3-4 grams per liter of gellan gum or 6-8 grams per liter of agar.
  3. Then, add the desired quantity of the plant hormone from the prepared PGR’s stock solution.
  4. Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121℃.

Your media is ready!
